Amplify Reading is not much a website but more of a program to help students become better readers. In their minor programs, Boost Reading, students are setting out into their own personalized journeys and quests growing their experience as future readers. Students will meet engaging characters that help motivate and propel their literacy skills forward. Boost reading is a research-based program that aligns standards to their lessons.
Let’s explore this program more! Students will start out in the world of Bookerton where they get their very own curioso, customizable companion, that will grow alongside the student. Students would be able to go into different games that teach segmenting, blending, and all the foundations of learning. When they begin to grow and build their fluency, they will start to learn how to read and being involved in mysteries. As their foundations begin to be mastered, students will be progressing from learning how to read into reading to learn. So many different quests and adventures will be readily available to them and challenges from comprehension to annotations and more.
As educators, I think this website is interesting to bring into their classroom. There is a variety of colorful and whimsical characters, lands, and games that will for sure have students engaged and intrigued. Teachers can align standards to their lessons which can be tailored to the needs of your students. This program starts from the basic level and moves up based on student results. They practice sentence structures, comprehension skills, phonics, phonological awareness, and so much more. This program matures with the students as they start out in elementary and move into middle school. This ILA website/program is a good starting point for students who are learning the basics of reading or want to enhance their skills in reading.
