IRA Newsletter Project: Effective Literacy Website #2

Night ZooKeeper (https://www.nightzookeeper.com/) is an educational platform aimed at inspiring creativity and improving writing skills in children. It features an online environment where students can engage in various writing activities, challenges, and games. Night Zookeeper uses a series of magical storybooks that help in teaching reading, spelling, grammar, drawing, and writing. The website relies on maps, stories, games, and writing prompts in order to expand your child’s skills.

Night Zookeeper focuses on fostering creativity and enhancing writing skills in a fun and interactive way. The platform encourages students to explore their imagination through storytelling and creative exercises. Night Zookeeper offers a variety of writing challenges and activities created to capture students’ interests and motivate them to express themselves creatively. Night Zookeeper does a great job in pacing a child’s progress.

The website requires a subscription but offers a free 7-day trial. I was able to create an account and add the names and ages of my students. With this feature, you can assign specific skills and monitor the progress that is being made. While navigating through the site, I noticed there is an online community where students can share their creations, collaborate with peers, and receive feedback from teachers and other students. This fosters a sense of community and encourages social learning.

The website includes educational games and interactive elements that make the learning process enjoyable for students. Students play as zookeepers responsible for specific animals that they can create. The educational activities and prompts focus on their zoo animal. For example, a writing activity will involve the zoo animal that each student has created and chosen.

Night Zookeeper provides tools and resources for teachers to monitor student progress, assess writing skills, and track engagement. This can be valuable for educators incorporating the platform into their lessons. Parents can be involved in their child’s learning journey through the Night Zookeeper platform, gaining insights into their creativity and writing development.

Ultimately, Night Zookeeper is a great online paid platform that can be useful to educators, parents, and students. The website aims to be user-friendly and allows for easy navigation between parent and children accounts. The 7-day free subscription gives enough time for educators and parents to gauge how useful the platform can be.

Ciera’s Farewell

Just like that fall intersession is over and spring semester is approaching. I had a great time reading through everyone’s literacy reviews....
