Julie Perez- Effective Literacy Website #1: PEBBLE GO

Pebble Go (URL: https://www.pebblego.com/)

Pebble Go is a fantastic resource for students from Kindergarten to 2nd grade, while Pebble Go Next caters to those in 3rd to 5th grade. Both versions cover a wide range of content areas aligned with curriculum standards, including articles and books about animals, science, biographies, social studies, and health. The nonfiction articles and Ebooks are not only informative but also interactive and visually appealing, featuring pictures, videos, games and audio elements that benefit beginner readers by supporting their reading skills.

One standout feature is the inclusion of activities and extended lessons with accompanying worksheets, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Additionally, Pebble Go offers games related to the chosen topic of study, making the platform engaging and educational. One of its key strengths is its contribution to literacy development through a read-aloud feature. This feature allows students to listen and follow along with highlighted text, promoting better understanding. The read-alouds are intentionally slow, underlining vocabulary words to emphasize their importance.

Pebble Go supports vocabulary development by highlighting words in a different color, allowing students to click on them to access definitions. The website's user-friendly interface and easy navigation contribute to its overall effectiveness as a comprehensive educational tool. Students can also click on the citation tab to see how to cite the resource.

Pebble Go and Pebble Go Next are fantastic tools for both teachers and parents to reinforce what kids are learning in school. I've personally witnessed the excitement and engagement of my students as they eagerly explore Pebble Go. It's incredibly user-friendly, allowing them to navigate the website effortlessly and discover interesting resources.

Ciera’s Farewell

Just like that fall intersession is over and spring semester is approaching. I had a great time reading through everyone’s literacy reviews....
