Quill by Leif Andres

Quill (https://www.quill.org/) is an effective website I found when teaching reading and ELA. There are many functions that Quill has to offer. It has specific progress monitoring, tracking, pre-made activities and worksheets, automatic corrections, automatic grading, an initial diagnostic probe, and suggestions/hints to guide students when they are incorrect.

Regarding its use as a reading resource, Quill has comprehension questions and passages that will help with student reading fluency. The other great thing about Quill is that when a student gets a question wrong, a hint/suggestion towards the correct answer will pop up. This is a great function because it allows students to learn from their mistakes without being given the complete answer.

Another great attribute about Quill is that it is completely free. Although there is a premium version users may pay for, the basic version has everything a teacher needs in order to efficiently utilize Quill for their class. The premium version includes some extra tutorials for teachers and more extensive progress reports on students.

Overall, Quill is an incredible reading resource that may also be utilized to help with ELA as well.

Ciera’s Farewell

Just like that fall intersession is over and spring semester is approaching. I had a great time reading through everyone’s literacy reviews....
