   Maximize your teaching time with Literacy Planet! Literacy Planet is a fun way to teach literacy to your students for maximize success. Students will get to enjoy teaching and explore worlds of wonder and storytelling. There are fun activities that can range from phonics, sight words, spelling, comprehension, and even grammar. Students will receive words and get to design their own characters. When students achieve a certain level, they can even receive your own certificates. Exploring through the website, students will be greeted by entering the void. They will then be transported into a world

where they can great their characters and start their mission. Depending on your year level, students will be given beginning assessment assignments to see the level of which students are at. They will then be able to select which activity they would want to start. Each exploration has two levels of practice and then the final level for testing. If the students tests accurately, they would be allowed to move on until another lesson or activity. 

          

      For educators, this is an interesting tool to use. Starting at that the reports section, teachers have many features: Student engagement (for monitoring student daily activity), student reports (monitoring each students learning activity), group report (monitoring mission activity per class), literacy check report (snapshot of students’ ability), learning levels (see the level of reading), and overall student proficiency (identifying students at risks). Teachers are also able to custom word lists, provide readings around the world, assign tasks, recognize awards and achievements, assign assignments, and align with a curriculum. Lastly, this website has resources for teachers like parent handouts, running records, and activity packs.
