Effective Literacy Website #6 by Jeanmarie Cruz

WHOOOS READING

With Whooos Reading, teachers are able to hold students accountable for their reading and check for comprehension. Students take quizzes generated by the website after they’ve read their book. The teacher can set expectations for quizzes. Rather than just the typical multiple choice, teachers can choose what types of questions, what ratio of fill-in-the-blank and open-ended questions they would prefer, how often students are to be quizzed, and more!

The website uses positive reinforcement by rewarding students after every quiz. The website also offers activities for students to do after reading. The activities cover a variety of skills like text-to-text connections, vocabulary, grammar and more.  Whooos Reading helps teachers track progress, holds students accountable and motivates them to keep reading!

Ciera’s Farewell
