Reading Bear is a website and project of WatchKnowLearn.org. It is a free online program that teachers beginning readers vocabulary and concepts while introducing the main phonetic patterns of the written English language. Reading Bear includes 50 presentations which covers the principles of phonics and illustrations of over 1,200 vocabulary items.
Each presentation is either a video or an interactive slide show one or a few phonics rule is introduced. The animation sounds out a word slowly and quickly. Then, they blend it slowly then finish off by blending quickly. It is a very effective website that directly instructs beginning readers how to read.
