Effective Literacy Website #3: Kid Scoop

Kid Scoop (https://www.kidscoop.com/) is a literacy website that enables children to express their aspiration to be familiar with about, and become active partakers in their local community. Kid Scoop counts on the active use of the community newspaper in the classroom to accomplish its mission. The program features an in-paper section for children and is also written by children, as well as a unique team method that encompasses newspapers, schools, and community supporters.

It is always great to have students start to build a connection between themselves and the community. Being aware of the current events and news within their environment makes them feel a part of the community as well. Unknowingly, while taking part of lots of fun activities, the students are also improving and building their reading and writing skills.

Ciera’s Farewell

Just like that fall intersession is over and spring semester is approaching. I had a great time reading through everyone’s literacy reviews....
